We are all familiar with this recipe! For some reason they usually taste best when mom makes them, but for anyone who wants to give it a try, here you go! :)
Combine the following and beat 4-5 minutes:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup potato flakes
1/2 cup non-instant milk
2 teas. salt
4 cups of flour
1 cube margarine/butter
3 cups hot water
Then add:
2 T. yeast (instant)
2 eggs
And mis for 2 minutes.
Add 3-4 cups more flour, and mix. (Bigger kitchen aids are best for this recipe!)
Let rise 1 hour, covered with a damp cloth. Divide the dough in half and roll out. Brush with melted margarine/butter. Sprinkle with (1 cup sugar to 2 T. cinnamon) sugar/cinnamon mixture. Cut and let rise again.
Bake at 350-375 degrees for 10-13 minutes.
Frost with:
1 cube real butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teas. vanilla
Delicious!
