Brisket

This is a recipe Mom and Dad used that they got out of a Kingwood, TX ward cookbook and we have loved this one for years! If you love BBQ than you absolutely have to try this one out! It is SO good! And it makes great leftovers too!

For a 4-5 lb brisket:

Marinade:
1 can beef consomme
1 5 oz. bottle soy sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1-2 cloves of minced garlic or garlic powder
1 T. liquid smoke

Let brisket marinade in refrigerator overnight. Drain off some of the marinade and bake at 300 degrees for four hours. Wrap tightly in foil or a turkey bag. Unwrap, drain off juice and grease, being sure to save 1 cup of juice. Mix cup of juice with 1-2 cups barbeque sauce. Slice the brisket on an angle against the grain. Pour sauce over and bake for another hour.

Enjoy!
